After I'd been studying guitar for a few years, my teacher, Mr. Gentile, started giving me the new students he was too busy to accommodate. Parents would show up at Calderone Music Studio for their kid's first lesson with Mr. Manche, only to find that "Mr. Manche" was a 13 yr-old kid not much older than their own. I wore a tie to up my credibility factor (it must have worked because I never had any complaints) and played my first guitar, a Gibson ES-125 (see picture). I wish I still had that one--they go for almost $2k on Ebay these days!
That was in the mid 60's--my first gig--and I've picked up more than a few guitar pointers in the decades since then. You can hear me playing various styles as you jump around the website; all the guitar work is mine. I'm happy to work with adults or children (no younger than 9) and can customize the focus of lessons to cater to songwriters if preferred. $40 for an hour-long lesson.
